WHY BE THE LONE RANGER

What separates the good businesses from the bad ones on
the Web? Knowing THIS can make you or break you so it's
worth the time to take a look.

Anyone with a dial-up account and an idea can be in business
today. But is that a good thing? Many think that the only
pathway to success is to think up a TOTALLY NEW idea and
then maybe success will follow.

While this can happen, it's often MUCH better to align yourself
with someone who has learned from experience what works and
what doesn't. A HUGE advantage in doing this is that the company
has paved the way for you to succeed. Gambling with your future
is pretty scary stuff. So, what do you look for in a partner?

A SOLID COMPANY

Be sure to find a company that has been around for a while.
Have they been successful? Have they had complaints lodged
against them? Are they up front about what they do or are
they hiding behind pages of hype? These questions, plus the
questions YOU come up with, are the right place to start.

Don't be afraid to ask, this is YOUR future.

ARE THEY FINANCIALLY SOUND?

The sound of desperation is unmistakable. To want you to
participate is one thing, to act like the world is ending
if you don't is a very bad sign. Ask all the questions you
need to. This is business, there are no stupid questions.

DO THEY HAVE STRONG MANAGEMENT?

Even if the company is a financial powerhouse and have been
around for hundreds of years, your investigation isn't over.
ASK QUESTIONS about who is running the show and ESPECIALLY
about their experience in THIS particular business.

Apple learned the hard way about hiring top people that didn't
have a clue about the computer industry. Make sure the top
people in YOUR potential business KNOW what they are doing.

DO THEY SELL WHAT PEOPLE WANT AT A GOOD PRICE?

If they sell what people want, they don't have to be the low
price leader to succeed. People don't buy on price alone or
no one would EVER drive a $50,000 car; they'd ride a bike
instead. ALSO, if they have the cheapest price in town on pet
rocks you won't go very far there either. Make sure you find
the right product at the right time at the right price.

Remember, THIS IS YOUR FUTURE. Don't settle for less than
the best. The questions above are an excellent starting point
but no matter how many questions YOU use, don't make a move
until you are satisfied that it's the RIGHT move for YOU.
