How to be Successful Working from Home!

So, you're interested in starting a home business? How are you going to make it happen?

Many people only dream of working from home and don't think it's really possible for them to do so. Sometimes it's the fear of failure that holds
people back.

I'm here to tell you IT IS possible and you can make money and enjoy working form home, you just have to be willing to try.

First of all, you have to have a business idea.

Let's look at some legitimate home business ideas to begin with; let's get some ideas going here...

Web design, Graphic design, Internet marketing, Secretarial Service, Medical Transcriptionist, Home Parties, (there's lots of these around and you can definitely make good money if you stick with them), Pet Sitting, Errand Runner, Copywriter, Real Estate, Photographer, Caterer, Furniture Maker, Candle Making, Wedding Consultant, Computer Tuition,
Music Lessons, Insurance Agent.

There's loads more, but as you can see, it is possible to find something you enjoy that can be a great home business. You might have to take some
classes to begin with if you don't have a skill. It depends what you are looking for.

The trick with any home business is to ease your way into one. Keep your regular job while you develop your home business. Start your business
part-time and let it build. When it reaches the point where you are making enough money, you can quit your
regular job. This way, you won't be taking risks and depending on a new business to support you right away.

All the above mentioned businesses are relatively low cost start-up businesses. Forget having to invest hundreds of thousands just to start your own business. Some of the most successful businesses were started on a shoe-string, or thereabouts...

So now you've got some ideas, what else do you need?

You need DISCIPLINE AND MOTIVATION. That's as important as your business idea. You need to be a go-getter kind
of person to have your own business. You need to be willing to get things off the ground yourself, and often willing to work for no financial return at first, or very little financial return. It helps to have vision; you have to sow the seeds
to see the flowers. Overnight success is quite rare.

You can help yourself stay motivated by making a "to do list", and working your business every day in some small or big way. It doesn't really matter as long as you have a plan and keep chipping away at it until it happens.

You hear people say all the time that you need to set your goals, well you do, and a "to do list" will enable you to cross off things as you work through them, giving you a feeling of accomplishment as well.

Okay, what else do you need?

As you begin starting your own business, you may come across negative people who will discourage you and make you feel less confident. You must ignore these people and only
let yourself focus on the positive. One day these people will eat their words. Try to find people who want the same out of life as you do and mix with them. If you can, find yourself
a mentor in the field you are going in to. This is a great help. You will be able to stay motivated about your future goals if you have someone to share them with. A mentor will
also give you insights into your business and hopefully share with you how to avoid certain mistakes along the way.

The last thing you need is FAITH - in yourself. So go ahead, start a home business - You won't look back!

Is answering online surveys is one of the real work from home jobs? I want to know if answering online surveys is one of the most successful work from home jobs that an unemployed person can do.

Admin 24.03.2010. 19:51

No really. But don't fall for the work at home envelope jobs! Or typing jobs. They are all a scam. If you need some help, you should contact your local government agencies for assistance.

Has anyone tried working from home as an Herbalife Distributor? I have to admit, this business opportunity intrigues me, but what I want to know is if there is anyone out there that has actually tried it out and does it really work? Can you be successful working at home as an Herbalife Distributor?

Admin 18.05.2007. 13:06

Hi I am an Herbalife Distributor and yes you can do it as a business, the products are safe and effective. The key to a successful business is who you sign up under. do not use another company to sign with to become a distributor the will push you to buy lots of products and buy things you don't need. Also the first step is to use the product, you can not sell something you do not use, you must love them also, my suggestion is to use the product first get some results, see how the person that introduced you to the products interacts with you and others in their group. then make the decision weather or not to do it as a business. If you love the products and not the person you are working with find someone else to sign under that will help you grow a business and not just want you to invest lots of money. You also must be willing to work hard at the business it is not a get rich quick scheme it is a work hard, love you product, learn all you can for you sponsor and training calls from the company, and you might get rich. Nothing in life is easy, but Herbalife is simple and fun and Magical, It is the best thing I have ever done, I have help so many people get their weight under control and get their life back.

good luck in whatever you choose to do

What is your biggest concern regarding internet marketing? Considered one of the many successful work from home opportunities, what concerns have prevented you from getting involved in this potentially lucrative business?
NOTE: This is a general question. Has no relation to any particular company. Just looking for thoughts from the community regarding Internet Marketing specifically.

Admin 08.08.2011. 14:35

The over-bearing amount of mis-information out there. This makes it extremely difficult for someone trying to get into the industry to know what really works, and what is inaccurate. Considering there aren't "written in stone steps" or standard operating procedures, and the fast-paced changes to this new industry (keep in mind, the internet really is a new media)... it's difficult for someone to get started. It's even harder to keep up with the ever-changing factors that can affect your success.

Has anyone had any luck with assembling things at home opportunities? Assembling stuff from your house. It doesn't matter to me if it doesn't pay much. I have ways of living cheap. Has anyone had any successful experiences working from home building electronics, computers, anything at all?

I just want to build stuff from home. Please help. Thanks for reading.

Admin 17.03.2008. 19:12

don't know about assembling stuff. but there is a company online called West something or another. I have a few friends that work for them. It is answering the phone for customer hotlines for different companies. Or taking orders for companies. They really get paid. Sorry I can remember the rest of the name. maybe you can do a search and find it. West is not used like a direction but a last name. Hope it helps!

What is the best christian homeschool curriculum? I am a successful work at home mom of 4 kids. I have been checking into different homeschool curriculums but was looking for some testimonials of ones that have worked for other parents.

I use several curriculum's, a different one for each subject basically.
I really like Abeka for Language Arts, it is very thorough (I had to get used to the concept that they don't have to do EVERY problem in the book).
I use Math U See for math this year for my youngest. Chalkdust for my oldest in Algebra 1, but I understand that Math U See may have been better. I would NOT recommend Life Pacs or S O S for Math.
I am using a World History Study from Life Pacs and it is really good so far.
For science, and this is the one I REALLY like, I LOVE Apologia! It is such a well balanced thorough curriculum written to the child. It is wonderful, my daughter has thrived on it! It is an immersion program (for k-6) meaning you study one subject most the year. Like Astronomy, Botany, Zoology, and so on. The older kids have a text book type curriculum and it is wonderful as well.
Literature I do with a co-op as well as Language arts, speech, and humanities. They follow a "Charlotte Mason" approach.
I hope this helped!

Is there anyone that is currently employed by an online work-at-home company? There are so many scams out there and I would like feedback on a successful, legitimate online work-at-home company.... Please help!

Admin 17.04.2008. 01:07

I have joined an at home online business that is free and open to people worldwide. It is also registered with the Better Business Bureau. It's not a get rich scheme either. I don't want to break any of the yahoo rules by posting it, so anybody that wants the website, feel free to contact me and you can check it out for yourself.

How do successful working women balance family and career? It might be silly to be asking this now, considering I'll be a senior in high school this year and I would like to have a family in 10-15 years, but how do successful working women balance their family and career? Especially women in male dominated fields, how do you continue to do well at work and still manage to raise a happy family?

I've been thinking about becoming a doctor and I do not want to choose either career or family. I would love to have both.

Admin 23.07.2009. 00:09

They don't. They really don't. Make a decision NOW about which you want, cause chances are you'll win the lottery before you balance both successfully. Don't let the movies fool you. Have your fun and career now while you are young and impetuous. Then when you've settled down and established a home(unlike 97% of the country), then have your family, i.e. children.

What are some successful home businesses, if there are any? I see so many advertisements on homebased work but none seem to fall in to the plausible category. Too good to be true usually is. So, I was wondering if anyone knew of a legitimate, successful home business or work at home job.

One of the first things I would recommend that you do is start thinking about your interests/passions... and go into an internet business that is based on that. Why? Because it makes the work a lot easier.

Answering the following questions should help you develop ideas:

1) what websites do you visit when you're just surfing online?
2) do you have pets?
3) do you play and sports?
4) do you collect anythings?
5) do you have any specialized education?

See what I mean....

After that, you've got to decide the business model that you want to use - do you want to develop you own product or do you want to be an affiliate marketer (market other peoples products)?

Then you've got to learn basic skills such as building and uploading websites, setting up autoresponders, setting up a merchant account to take orders, etc.

And then, probably the most important part... you have got to learn how to market you business. If your interested in starting up your own internet business, then I would like to suggest the following:

>>>>> Note: These cost money, but you'll learn the necessary skills required.

if you don't have much experience with computers and the Internet -

If you have good experience with computers and the Internet -
(TIP! - A trial version of this training is presently being offered for a limited time -

In both cases, the money back guarantee is simply cannot lose. They can do that because of their success rate...

If your interested in affiliate marketing (marketing other people's products/services) then you'll want grab a copy of this book -

>>>>> This will not cost you anything

If your interested in joining an existing internet business, then I would recommend SFI Marketing Group ( I would recommend that you join this opportunity either way because 1) its Free and 2) you'll learn a lot through their training.

Anyways, I hope this helps... and I wish you much success.

If you are an accomplished typist - word processor and have recently visited your local city college or university librarian, you can apply as a "certified" graduate typist, earning between $1.50 to $2.00 per page for a master or doctoral thesis. The librarian will provide you with a sample of the typing template (i.e., margin settings, font selection, page set up, etc.) in order to complete these projects using Microsoft Word. An average weekend income is about $300-$400 for two days work.

Good luck!
