30% Of All People Suffer From Sinus Infections

By: Paul Hood

Have you ever felt like your head is going to explode? Felt intense pressure behind your eyes making it next to impossible to concentrate. Had headaches, pain in the upper jaws, fever, coughs and runny nose? If your answer is yes, then you could be suffering from Sinus infection.

According to Mark Cichocki, our sinuses are air pockets located inside the bones in the skull. They are located to either side of the nose (maxillary), behind and in between the eyes (ethmoid), in the forehead (frontal), and there is one much further back in the head (sphenoid). These spaces contain mucus that drains by way of small pin holes in the sinuses. When these sinuses grow swollen and prevents the proper drain of mucus, sinusitis is the result. Sinusitis attacks may last until 12 weeks or more depending on the gravity of the infection. Unlike colds which is viral, sinusitis may sometimes be caused by bacteria. The accumulated mucus from the plugged sinuses serves as the breeding ground for these microorganisms. At least 30% of the population suffers from sinusitis each year.

Sinusitis can be treated with the right dose of antibiotics usually from fourteen to twenty-one days of continued medication. After that, another week is devoted to continued intake of the antibiotics even after the symptoms have disappeared. However, immediate measures have to taken if the medication causes negative effects. A change in medicine can be done. Sinusitis that have come to the chronic stage may sometimes be caused not by bacteria but by fungus making it prudent to have a sample of the infected material to determine the real culprit and be able to decide which antibiotic is best suited for the condition.

Preventing the occurrence of sinus infections require the appropriate amounts of rest, a well-balanced diet, and exercise can help the body function at its most efficient level and maintain a general resistance to infections. Eliminating environmental factors, such as climate and pollutants, is not always possible, but they can often be controlled. As always, it is good to have preventive measures undertaken to decrease your chances of contracting this disease. Like what they say, " An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. "

Having a strong constitution and immune system is our best defense against diseases like this and it is of outmost importance to know the factors that can weaken it.

How do you know if your allergic to your percriptions? I have a sinus infection and have had it for a little over a month, last week I finally decided to get some meds to help me get over it...I hate being sick. So she gave me 30 500mg of amoxicillin, which I take 3x's a day and told me to take mucinex too(the pharmacy gave me a a bottle of 40 600mg pills and it says to take then 2x's a day every 12 hrs. After taking the pills(I take all 3 in the morning on at lunch and 3 at night) i started feeling nauseous, tired and dizzy... after the second day on it I began to feel itchy all over. Last weekend I didn't take my meds, I left them in the office on accident, and I felt like normal. This morning I got the meds and took them and no I feel crappy. My stomach feel bloated, it aches, I'm nauseous, and tired. Is it a bad reaction to the meds or am I supposed to suffer?

Meds are like shoes , one size does Not fit all .
You should be very aware of negative reactions and stop them , then tell your doctor .

They gave me the pharmaceutical B vitamin (Niaspan) for high cholesterol (because regular vitamins have little quality control )
I ended up looking like a burned lobster all over my body . I also ended up woozy and nauseous .
Fortunately , I had taken it at nite , because , had I taken it during the day and been driving . . .
There would have been a bad accident .

So , also , NEVER take any medication the first time when you will be doing anything with any mechanical or electrical device . Find out how you respond on your day off , at home with no complex activities planned .

And check the medications side effects here (although many are radically Under Stated ! )

Will my insurance pay for something that happened before insured? I am two weeks away from getting my insurance back from United healthcare. I needed med for a sinus infection so I went to urgent care uninsured. I hear I can write off things with U.H if they are only backlogged within 30 days prior to getting insurance. Is this true?

doomncandy

Admin 26.12.2010. 05:52

Not if your Insurance is not instated. They are sticklers about it now. If you had a Sinus infection did you use Z Pack or Amoxicillin? If so, those Generics are sometimes cheaper than a copay. Also your urgent care provider will write off a large portion of your bill if you call and tell them you were uninsured. They are over-inflated for insurance anyway.

Hope you are FEELING better! I suffer from that often. Try "NeilMed Sinus Wash" when you are starting to feel sinusitis and it will often flush it and prevent the infection.

How often should I burp in an hour and in a day? I burp about 5 times an hour maybe, usually less and about 30 times or so a day. Is that normal? Most times it is after I eat or drink something but sometimes I havent eaten or drank anything and I will still burp.

baseballguy

Admin 06.06.2009. 05:36

i'm lucky if i burp 5 times a day buddy .......... 30 times daily does sound like it's excessive burping...... excessive belching is one of the symptoms of lactose intolerance mate ..... It is possible that you have an intolerance to milk and dairy products buddy ......... many many people find it extremely difficult to digest milk and dairy products because of the lactose contained therein..... Lactose intolerance can cause acid reflux, alternating bouts of constipation & diahorrea and will also lead to a compromised digestive system thus laying the groundwork for a body which is extremely susceptible to developing nose, throat, sinus, ear, bronchial, bladder and other infections as well....... Other symptoms you may be suffering from are bloating and cramping, mucous in your stools, wet f*arting (sorry no other way to put it),digestive troubles such as constipation, excessive burping and gassiness and ribbony and stringy shaped bowel movements or rabbit pellet shaped movements are all symptoms of lactose intolerance......... as are achy bones, insomnia, irritability and moodiness, headaches and migraines ....... which would result from your calcium supplies being inhibited by continuing to ingest foods to which you are intolerant.

Ditch the milk and dairy products for a few days and pump up your intake of leafy and green vegies, broccolli, kale, chard, buk choy .... even carrotts ..... and fresh fruit also ..... oranges are rich in calcium.

Get your 10 - 15 mins daily of safe sun exposure (vitamin D is essential for calcium absorption and is known as the sunshine vitamin).

The calcium found in vegies and fruits has a greater impact on bone health than calcium from dairy products anyways.... a study published in The Americal Journal of clinical nutrition (2002) found that a high intake of vegies and fruits has a positive impact on bone health, but dairy did not. Dairy products contain animal proteins, which speed the elimination of calcium from the body and make it more acidic. This can cause calcium to leach from the bones and cause problems with magnesium (essential for healthy nerve and muscle functioning and for heart health ~ known as the antistress mineral) absorption, leading to osteoporosis. In addition, we absorb only 30 percent of the calcium found in milk, compared to 40 to 70 percent of the calcium found in vegies and fruits.

Cow's milk contains proteins that are difficult for humans to digest; when these undigested proteins enter the lower digestive system, they putrefy and cause digestive problems. Dairy products encourage the production of excess mucus in the body, burdening the respiratory, digestive and immune systems. Not surprisingly, when you ditch the milk and dairy people more often than not experience markedly fewer colds and sinus & respiratory infections.

I know it's a big ask to ditch the milk and dairy ....... believe me, i did it when i found out i was lactose intolerant ..... it's hard because of all the processed sugar contained in most milk and dairy products ...... but if you are brave enough to step up and do it you won't believe the health and vitality benefits that will ensue ....... really and truly, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by trying this out.

actually, test your heart rate over 30 seconds...... then have a couple of mouthfulls of milk or a bite of cheese....... then sit down for 20 minutes and relax...... then retest your heart rate ....... if it has risen by more than 20 beats per minute there is a large chance you are intolerant to that food.......... simply put...... if it upsets your digestion, frizzs your brain, makes you sick etc.... don't eat it.

peace baby

How to remove dark circles under my eyes? I am suffering from this problem as the first thing you try to hide during a make-up session is my dark circle eyes.

Beky G

Admin 26.02.2007. 13:50

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.
http://www.mydarkcirclesblog.com/2006/11/27/causes-of-dark-circles/

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

What can cure migraines and headaches with out meds? I suffer from really bad migraines and sinus headaches. I feel like a druggy constantly reaching for that pill bottle. Is there anything that would help headaches with out taking meds?

Sarah Sukih

Today's modern medicine is focused on DRUGS and we know all drugs damage the body in some way. Migraines are typically due to small intestinal issues, such as food intolerances or allergies, teeth problems from infection or bad dentistry that is rampant in the U.S. and also due to insufficient livers. Sinus headaches are all part of the same root causes.

Anytime you have a sinus condition that lasts for more than 4 months medical professionals will tell you that your condition is chronic and you will not be able to "cure" it and have to live with it for the rest of your life. That is only true if you follow the typical "treat the symptom allopathic medicine route."

A very good example of how dental problems can create this issue is to realize that the roots of a tooth grow very close to the sinus cavity. Let's say you get a root canal. The way dentistry works is to take the cheapest methods to deal with it. Drill out the root, fill it with gutta percha, and put a crown on. The problem is that the drugs they use to deaden the nerve are AGGRESSIVELY CARCINOGENIC and are so toxic that they equal you smoking a pack of cigarettes each day for 12.9 years. And that is for just one shot of any of the aniline chemicals, except for Septocaine. All the other aniline chemicals, like novocaine, lidocaine, procaine, carbocaine, etc. all create these aniline homologs that cause cancer.

Then the person gets NICO (neuralgia induced cavitational osteonecrosis) or deterioration of the jaw bone due to bacteria infested root canal because the dentist used hydrogen peroxide to kill germs and only killed about 30% of them. The gutta percha only fills some of the canals and allows germs to multiply like crazy that migrate into the jaw bone beneath the root canal. NO PAIN is involved, so it goes ignored.

There is no reason to have to deal with migraines when you are treated by someone who knows what they are doing, not some doctor that will treat the symptoms only.

good luck to you

What are the differences between allergies and sinuses? I broke my nose years ago at my sinuses where I should have had surgery. I am not allergic to anything as far as I know, so I don't believe I have "allergies." But I am curious as to what the difference is because it seems my "sinuses" act up the same time people's "allergies" do. Please only answer this if you have a clue, I will research on my own, I just was curious to see if there was anyone who may have an intelligent answer.

Years ago I suffered immensely from allergies. The reason was I had a deviated septum. Your nostrils alternate throughout the night taking in oxygen. If you suffer even a small degree because of an allergy, this causes a swelling that closes off one nostril and the sinus cavity becomes inflamed and infected. The infection spreads and you get a sinus headache. I had my deviated septum corrected nearly 30 years ago and although today I may slightly be affected by allergies ( a slight runny nose, a few sneezes or redness of the eyes) my sinuses never get infected anymore. I don't even take medication anymore and I use to live off of Contac. Check it out you may have a deviated septum.

The following works for sinus, cold, running nose, sore throat and strep throat. It works for all digestive problems as well. The digestive problems that it cures are - IBS, constipation, stomach cramps, GERD, Acid reflux etc. Logically it should cure asthma as well.

Give up water and all other fluids for 24 to 48 hours.

Logic -

Bacteria responsible for cold and sinus breeds in moist, damp and dark areas.
When we breathe the varours carried along provide the moisture for breeding of infections in sinus areas.
When we stop drinking water and other fluids - after 24 hours the moisture carried along our breathe reduce significantly enough. Our breathe becomes excessively hot. That kills the bacteria.

Baceria survives in damp and dark places. Evidence of this can be found by following -

Stand 12 inches away facing a wall. Mark a circle of about 3 mm dia. Focus on that circle for about 10 second. Without blinking eyes. After 10 seconds move backwards by about 6 inches without blinking eyes. Again after 10 seconds move backwards without blinking eyes. Repeat this until u have moved about 3-4 ft away from wall. Then close your eyes and rest them. With close eyes come to the original position of 12 inches from the wall and point.

Open ur eyes and you will find a sticky fluid coming out of your eyes. This is the result of bacteria dying due to excessive light entering the eyes.

The excessive light enters the eye due to ur movement away from an object and then coming closure to the point.

It may not happen on the first movement. Repeating 3-4 times may cause the fluid movement.
If it still does not happen you may have to look into the sky for about 30 seconds without blinking. (Away from the sun)

Another angle to antibodies and infections -

This is likely to cure AIDS and cancer and most of the diseases resulting from poor immune systems.

Cold and cough happens due to some infection.
The infection from a virus / bacteria happens once only in the life time of a person. Next times it is some other varient of the virus/bacteria.
That is possible only if our body has some sstem of keeping a record of past infections. The body seems to keep a blue print of past infections near body's sinus areas.
This fact is supported by the theory of similar cures similar in Homeopathy. In homeopathy the person suffering from a disease is given diluted bacteria of the diseased person. That is claimed to cure the disease permanently.
When a blue print of an infection is stored in the body, the antibodies against that infection are made on daily basis for the life time of the person.
As with every thing, the body has a capacity or range to do things. Fever ranges from 95 to 108, BP range, pulse range and so every thing has some range or capacity,
Same way there has to be a capacity of production of antibodies in human body.
When the number of blue prints of infections keeps increasing, the body keeps making antibodies for old infections. When the capacity to make antibodies is fully utilised it stops making antibodies for new infections.

That may manifest as AISD or MCTD or some other problems which are characterised by abnormally high antibody production, but the body remains highly suspectible to new infections.

Since the blue prints of infections are stored near sinus areas, these must be deleted to restore the immunity of the body. That is possible by changing the environment in which these bacteria breed

Increase your intake of fatty fishes such as cod, salmon, halibut....... they are a brilliant source of omega 3 fatty acids, which have antiflammatory properties.

I'd also suggest you eliminate the nightshades, such as potatoes, tomatoes and eggplant from your diet as they may aggravate arthritis.

Take extra vitamin C in a powdered form containing bioflavonoids twice daily as well ...... if you're taking lots of aspirin or the like, you're losing vitamin C.

Take 2 fish oil (omega 3) capsules morning and night as well.

Vitamin C will assist in lowering blood pressure, reduce effects of many allergy producing substances, help in decreasing blood cholesterol, bolster your immune system and act as a natural laxative.

Fish oils will also help lower blood pressure, enhance the immune system, keep hair, skin and nails healthy, level out any moods and stress levels you may have, alleviate rheumatoid arthritis, offer protection against migraines and kidney disease and reduce blood viscosity and help prevent heart attacks and strokes and bolster your immune system.

Ditch the milk and dairy products too i say ........ many many people find it extremely hard to digest lactose contained in milk and dairy products.

Take a calcium & vitamin D3 rich supplement perhaps in a liquid form (easiest to assimilate) to ensure you get all your calcium on a daily basis ..........and pump up your intake of fresh fish such as salmon and tuna and leafy and green vegies & fresh fruits~ the vegies are rich in both calcium and protein and the fish are rich in magnesium (antistress mineral), protein, EFA's~ essential fatty acids which are also fantastic for lowering blood pressure, levelling out any mood or stress levels you may have and bolstering your immunity, calcium and vitamin D (the vitamin D is essential for effective calcium absorption) ........?

The calcium found in vegies and fruits has a greater impact on bone health than calcium from dairy products anyways.... a study published in The Americal Journal of clinical nutrition (2002) found that a high intake of vegies and fruits has a positive impact on bone health, but dairy did not.

Dairy products contain animal proteins, which speed the elimination of calcium from the body and make it more acidic. In addition, we absorb only 30 percent of the calcium found in milk, compared to 40 to 70 percent of the calcium found in vegies and fruits.

pretty disturbing actually when you consider the way the milk and dairy industry pump us with their commercials to drink more milk !!

Lactose intolerance can cause acid reflux, alternating bouts of constipation & diahorrea and will also lead to a compromised digestive system thus laying the groundwork for a body which is extremely susceptible to developing nose, throat, sinus, ear, bronchial, bladder and other infections and ailments as well....... Other symptoms of lactose intolerance are mucous in the stools, bloating and cramping, digestive troubles such as constipation, belching and burping, gassiness and wet f*arting (sorry, no other way to say it), ribbony and stringy shaped bowel movements or rabbit pellet shaped movements are all symptoms of lactose intolerance. ...........

Please also ensure that whichever supplement you decide to buy doesn't contain any lactose, wheat, yeast, gluten, preservatives or flavorings, sugar or yeast as none of these have any place in a good quality supplement anyways.

You have only vibrant health & vitality to gain by ditching the milk and dairy products mate ............. i sincerely do wish you the very best of health & vitality ?

Drink loads of fresh filtered water on a daily basis too as we need at least 2 litres per day just to maintain aspiration (to breath) .............. High blood pressure can be a side affect of long standing dehydration ...... When you are getting dehydrated your body goes into preservation mode and hangs onto the little bit of water it does have, hence symptoms such as puffy bags under your eyes actually puffiness anywhere in the body is actually a sign of dehydration.

If you are dehydrated, your blood becomes thicker and your body has to work much too hard to cause it to circulate .......... Expecting your digestive system to digest food and transport essential vitamins and nutrients with no water in your system is an extremely huge ask ............ Water is imperative to life. Without water your body will have a terrible time breathing, digesting food, transporting nutrients, lubricating your joint sockets etc.etc.etc.etc......... nothing substitutes for water. your body needs at least 2 - 3 litres of water daily to function efficiently ?

cheers
?

peace 2 u
