What should I do when the acne products the I use dry out my skin? I use the acne products my dermatologist prescribed me and my skin is always dry and nasty looking. What should I do to improve my complexion and hydrate my skin?

Admin 27.11.2006. 22:25

The reason the acne products are drying out your skin is because of the saylilic acid. Try using all natural cleansers and products, this will prevent your skin from being over processed but still fight against the acne. my favorite brand that has worked for me and my friends is Aveda.

Hope this helps

What might happen if i stop using acne products on my really bad acne? For the past 4 months i have had really bad acne.
And i have tried all kinds of over the counter meds but nothing really worked.
What might happen if i stop using acne products for a while,
Will is breakout even more and worse?

Oh dee

Admin 31.08.2009. 00:31

From my experience, it more than likely will make it better, not worse, to stop all the products. Most OTC acne products just irritate sensitive skin and make it break out more. I used to have horrible acne and used everything under the sun to get rid of it.

Now, I just wash with Clean and Clear cleanser for sensitive skin, and my skin has never looked better.

What's a good acne product that gets rid of blackheads? Out of all the acne products I've tried I've never been able to really find one that gets rid of my blackheads and little bumps (I'm guessing those are whiteheads?). I'm using Noxzema face wash right now and its working great. My skin is pretty clear besides those pesky blackheads. Does anyone know any good products that has gone deep enough to get rid of them? Thanks!

Hey! I Know acne is a real pain but this is a really good treatment for it!
I Highly recommend this to anyone with acne as a Dermatologist

Step 1
Wash your face, neck and hairline once or twice daily with your cleanser I highly Recommend Neutrogena . Wash gently by rubbing your fingertips in a circular motion and rinse with lukewarm water.

Step 2
Purchase over-the-counter acne medications. You may have to try several before you find the best one for your skin. They come in a wide range of prices, and more expensive is not always better.

Step 3
Be careful when using all skin products. Apply only oil-free make-up, lotion and sunscreens. The ones that read "nonacnegenic" or "noncomedogenic" are best.

Step 4
Keep hair products out of your face. Cover your face with a towel while applying hair gel, hairspray and mousse. While taking a shower, wash your face last to remove shampoo and conditioner that may have run down your face.

Step 5
Keep sweat, germs and dirt off your face. Pull back long hair when it's hot, and avoid wearing hats and sunglasses.

Step 6
See a dermatologist if your acne is affecting your self-confidence I am a Dermatologist but i cant perscribe anything to you online.

Step 7
Change your diet. Eating chocolate, candy and greasy and unhealthy foods can definitely affect your complexion. Limit junk food intake, get plenty of vitamins and lead an overall healthy lifestyle.

The 1# Acne Product is Neutrogena It is the Best product out there in the WORLD My Favourite is The Neutrogena Pink GrapeFruit Acne Wash Which Clears up Blackheads Pimples and Unclogs pores. They truly have amazing skincare products.

I really Hope this helps you out

How good is Clickr skin care versus all other acne products? How good is ClickR acne products versus all other products like proactiv, clean and clear, etc.? Which is the better buy for the price? I've heard bad stories about proactiv but that's about it. Is it true that if you buy proactiv for a one time thing they send you more the next month for a higher price?

How many acne products can I use at once? I have a ton of acne products but I dont know if using more than one is bad.

Tips for acne treatment

Acne isn't caused by dirt. In fact people with oily skin have cleaner skin than average because they wash it more often. But it's a fact that washing too much can make acne worse because it makes the skin dry and sore. So, wash no more than twice a day, using mild soap and water. If you have patches of dry skin, don't worry about putting moisturizer on. It won't make your acne worse. If you're still concerned, use an oil free moisturizer.

There are lots of over the counter creams, gels, lotions and potions. Most contain a powerful bleaching agent called benzoyl peroxide. You'll find the strength written on the label. You might be tempted to go straight for the highest sort, working on the 'let's nuke 'em principle. The likely result is that you'll irritate your skin like mad. It may also go all dry and scaly on you. But if you still are willing to bleach then use the mild one.

If you have been using over the counter remedies for two months and there is no real improvement in your spots, this is the moment to go and make an appointment with your doc.

The thing you are most likely to be given by the doctor is a prescription for antibiotics. These will either be topical (which means something you put on your skin) or tablets you have to take every day. Whatever treatment your doctor or pharmacist recommends, follow the instructions carefully and keep using for at least two months. There should be a noticeable improvement by this time. If not, go back to discuss other possible treatments Antibiotics are perfectly safe to take. You should take them for at least two months and then go back to your doc. If they seem to be working, he will probably tell you to keep taking them and give you some more. If they aren't doing their stuff, don't despair - he has loads of other spot busters in his black bag...

Which of these acne products actually work? I have boughten alot of acne products to get rid of my acne, but which one works the best (or a combination of a few)?
Clean & Clear Concealing stick
Neutrogena Rapid clear gel
Neutrogena Rapid clear treatment pads
Neutrogena rapid clear cleanser
Neutrogena Oil Free acne wash cream cleanser (I don't think it works, though)
Neutrogena On the spot
Mary kay blemish toner
Any recomendations?

Admin 25.10.2007. 22:02

Nothing works better then just leaving your face alone, just wash your face twice a day, morning and night, don?t touch your face with dirty hands. By using all of the acne products out there you will just mess up your natural oil balance which keeps your face moisturized and wrinkle free in the future.

What acne product works best to get fast and effective results? There are several popular acne products but which one gets you the results faster, and is it effective? Neutrogena, clearasil, clean and clear, clinique, biore, olay, and l'oreal. Which of these is the best acne product to get rid of acne with fast and effective results that you can see? And if you know, is there a product that gets rid of acne scars?

Admin 24.09.2011. 23:05

I am a senior girl in high school and have recently been struggling with, more like battling acne, specifically on my chin and forehead/between my eyes. I tried everything; creams, gels, the wave, but nothing topical seemed to work. I read some stuff online about diet corresponding with skin. Though foods haven?t been proven to be linked to acne, I firmly stand by the saying ?you are what you eat?. If you are healthy on the inside, then it will show on the outside. I took matters into my own hands and created my own ?diet?. Please keep in mind that everyone is different and though this has worked wonders for me, it might not be for everyone.
I cut dairy, breads, peanuts, anything processed, and sugar out of my diet as much as possible. I upped the fruits and veggies and completely cut out soda and juice which I replaced with water?and lots of it. Seriously, the more water you can drink, the better.
I do switch this up all the time but this is what I typically eat:
Breakfast: Water, a multi-vitamin, one scrambled egg, and fruit. It keeps me surprisingly full and tastes great.
Lunch: Salad (with chicken) or soup?something light and healthy. Chicken tastes great on salads and a little vinaigrette makes it less boring. Skip the creamy dressings and croutons.
Snack: A handful of almonds and some fruit or veggies (I like baby carrots ?)
Dinner: I eat dinner as I normally would but stay away from high calorie, fatty foods like hamburgers, pizza, or Chinese. I always eat a vegetable or salad at dinner as well.
Dessert: Fruit if possible, but sometimes I have a square of dark chocolate. It?s actually good for you and gives you a quick sugar fix.
Again, everyone is different. My skin is completely clear as long as I stick to this diet. I went out of town and went back to my old eating habits and my skin broke out horribly! As soon as I came home, I went on a healthy kick and my skin is gorgeous again.
Try it... the worst it could do is nothing. You might even drop a few pounds which never hurts!
Best of luck!

What are some good acne products for sensitive skin? I have used clean and clear and neutrogena face wash and it ends up breaking out my skin because my skin is sensitive. Is there any acne products or natural remedies that clear acne that can be used for sensitive skin?

Admin 01.07.2009. 22:11

There are also some natural methods for acne removal, such as soaking a cotton ball in vinegar and sea salt and then putting the solution on your face for a few minutes before washing it off. This has a drying effect, but it may or may not be irritating to your skin.

As in the case of the drug store treatment, make sure you test it before you put it on your face.

What are the best acne products for oily skin? I have tried Proactive, Neutrogena, and many other acne products and none of them have worked great for my skin. They Proactive didn't work at all and the Neutrgena products started out OK then stopped working after a couple of weeks. I have very oily skin and play a lot of sports and really would appreciate if anyone could give me there favorite acne products!

Admin 22.06.2012. 12:20

I can't think of a product beside proactive that you mention but what works for you might not works for me.

Exercising regularly can also help reduce stress and it increases blood circulation and oxygen penetration to the skin, which may help with acne prevention.

Drink plenty of water a day to help "detoxify" the body from the inside out.

Consume food rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin B-2, Vitamin B-3, Vitamin E and Zinc like eggs, nuts, liver, milk, fish and leafy green vegetables. I think people with acne needs vitamins.

Proper sleep and a life without stress and emotional anxiety can reduce acne.

What are some really good acne products? Ive had my acne for almost 3 years now and I feel like it wont ever go away. Ive tried acne free severe, proactiv, and even home remedies. I dont have alot of money to buy products like skin I.D. , murad, etc. Ill buy them if they work. I realize that not every product works for everybody so, what are some acne products that have worked for you?

Admin 25.08.2011. 16:04

I have had acne for about 6 years now. When I was young it was easily taken care of with a simple toner. As I progressed into my teenage years it got worse and the simple toner wasnt working. I had a very low self esteem like most teens and young adults. Acne does not help this but you are not alone. Relax. The best way to treat your acne is not to make it a big deal. Wash your face, drink plenty of water and eat healthy. Don't wear makeup. Moisturize with a noncomedeogentic moisturizer and things will get better. I am not a professional I am only 18 but this is what I have learned after trying just about everything and anything. Go see a dermatologist and perhaps they can give you something better to work with. :)
Good luck and just know that no matter what you are beautiful!
