When Teenage Drivers Strike Pedestrians And Severely Injure Or Killed Them


It is well known that teenage drivers are at high risk of causing a motor vehicle accident. Almost every day there are reports of even more accidents concerning teenage drivers. Many accidents involve more than one teenager in a car. Many accidents have more than one victims. Many accidents involve injured or killed pedestrians. In this article we analyze 4 reported accidents. One case involves major injuries. The additional three incidents involve a fatality.

In this report a motor vehicle accident was described in which the driver was a 16 year old who has a junior license which permitted the teenager to drive up to 9:00 pm. The incident, however, took place on a weekday at a time later than 9:00 p.m. The driver lost control of his car, hit another car, and then slammed into a 65 year-old male pedestrian who was waiting at a bus stop. The victim died from his injuries a short time after being hit. The driver survived the accident with only minor injuries. He was arrested and charged with speeding, manslaughter, and criminally negligent homicide.

In this report the driver of the vehicle was a drunk eighteen year old male. The motor vehicle accident took place prior to dawn on a Sunday. The biggest percentage of drunk driving accidents happen on weekend nights. As outlined by the report the victim in this accident was hit while crossing a road. He was forty four years old. The impact caused the pedestrian to endure significant head injuries. The driver was arrested. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving under the influence.

This accident involved an 18 year-old male driving in a residential area at around 8:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning. The accident happened when the teenaged driver lost control of his car. The car spun violently before it flipped over, struck the victim and struck a large tree in front of the house. The victim had just gotten out of his car to pick up a pamphlet from the front yard on a home which had a For Sale sign when he was hit by an out of control car. The man died as a result of his injuries. He was sixty seven years old.

In this report the account was of a nineteen year old driver. The young woman was driving in a residential region. The young driver left the scene of the accident after she hit a woman who was gardening in a flower bed in front of her own home. The driver hit the woman so hard that she threw her almost 150 feet. The female victim ended up slamming against a truck that was parked in the driveway of her house. The driver did not stop. About 30 minutes after the accident the police found the young driver and arrested her. They found her not far from the scene of the accident. She stated she was going back to the scene to take responsibility for the accident.
