Women Love Their Cars Too

Whether you're a single man seeking a car that can be a potential chick-magnet or if you're a woman looking for something cute, sporty and reliable, there has officially been a list put together of the top cars women love to drive. If you're interested, check out the list below, and men, just a note, there are no trucks on the list.

Many women seem to have love affairs with older model classics. Women also tend to choose their potential new rides with the practical factor, whereas men tend to choose from the heart. For women however, cars like the Austin / Morris Mini, Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud (not that many of you men will be rushing out to purchase one of these as a chick-magnet, but it's on the list), and the older model BMW's, specifically the 1971 3.0 CS and the 1968 to 1976 2002 model Beamers. The latter year will definitely cost a hefty lot for replacement parts if need be as these are considered classics and require a lot of upkeep.

Also making the list of women's favourite cars are a few of the newer models such as the Ford Mustang Convertible, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder and the Volvo S40. While the Mitsubishi Eclipse was the most popular car amongst women in 2005, the safer Volvo S40 took over that position in 2007.

A few other sporty cars that topped the ladies' list were the Porche 911 GT3 R and the Bentley Continental GTC along with a few of the Volkswagen models. The New Beetle, which became convertible in 2007, had the highest percentage of women divers according to J.D. Power. A whopping 56.1 per cent of New Beetles are registered to women. Sixty-one per cent of Volkswagen Tiguans are also owned by women.

Ironically the Citroen 2CV the French-made vehicle also made the list, most likely for practicality reasons. Whether you are a man or a woman, doing the proper research when buying a used car is essential to avoid purchasing a lemon. Looking at reliability ratings and consumer reports are a good place to start. There are also many books on the market that rate new and used vehicles that can help you with your search. Then, once you have narrowed down make and model and are looking at a particular vehicle, being sure that there are no outstanding liens against the car and that the car is accident-free is crucial to ensuring you are getting a great used car and not a nightmare.
