Do you carefully check to be sure the person you
are renting to is who he or she says they are.... and
are they someone you want to rent to.

Have you ever rented to a minor... and then attempted
to enforce the rental agreement? Hope not!

A minor is not considered legally responsible for any
agreement or contracts signed. Those pieces of paper
are just not enforceable.

If you allow a minor to move in you would not have the
power to legally enforce a lease... even if rent went
unpaid.

If someone under age 18 wants to rent from you (and
you want them as a tenant)... explain that before they
move in they have two choices...

1. They can become an emancipated adult through a court

ruling, or...

2. They can get a legal adult to co-sign as the
responsible party on the lease.
