Scams to Watch Out For

Scams to Watch Out For

HOW EMBARASSING!

You may have read about it on your newspapers sports
page. Here in Phoenix the Diamondbacks baseball club
hired a new manager. A reporter did what the club
management did not... he checked the new guys back-
ground. What he found and printed was not pretty, so
the club fired the guy before he even signed a contract.

Shame on the Diamondbacks and a good reminder for all
of us. Any time you are going to do a deal with
someone take a little time and check them out.

Its cheap and easy if you use this resource...

A PREDICTION!

The real estate TV gurus are flooding the
country with enthusiastic if under educated
"investors". These folks lust for quick
riches... their greed glands are pulsating.

Scam artists must be licking their chops. We
predict a time proven old chestnut will soon
be in the news again. Its easy and it works
like this...

The scam artist rents a house. He immediately
creates some fake deeds showing his phony name
as owner. He runs some "for sale" ads in the
classified...

"Desperate Owner Must Sell This Week". He gets
a number of "investor" calls. He schedules
them an hour or two apart and sells the home to each
one getting whatever cash he can from each.

What a great scam! Travel from city to city
working one day a month and make big money... with
no income tax!

Advice...even when doing a kitchen table close you
must do some checking. Even with a deal that must be
done quickly you can check the names on the recorded
deed for the property. Then demand to see a photo
ID of the person claiming to be the owner.
Does it match the name on the recorded document?

Here you can find an ounce of prevention...
