eConnect for Microsoft Great Plains was initially intended as a set of tools to enable web developers (eCommerce web sites) use Microsoft Great Plains as back end accounting and order processing info. Also it is extended to serve as your web-front intranet to enable Payroll, Project, AR, AP, GL, etc. You can purchase eConnect in three options (January 2005):
eConnect pricing obviously differs, especially for product line (Microsoft Great Plains or Microsoft Great Plains standard) and region – you should expect several thousand US dollars investment even for Great Plains Standard. You should also know that different modules/series of eConnect are required in the case of transaction import – you can import and integrate master records with any version of eConnect
