How to burn a DVD.
DVD-R is a one time burn only. DVD-RW are DVD's that you can copy over many times. Most DVD's will not play in all players or computers.
There are many different programs, DVD Studio Pro (for Mac) and Toast 6 (for PC) being the most popular. You must have a DVD burner for all to work. (in some cases you may be able to burn a DVD in a CD burner, the way to find out, is if it has a DVD option.
There are three ways to burn (make) a DVD in most programs.

1. Make a copy. Insert the DVD you want to copy into the drive. Click copy in the DVD burn software. Eject disk after it copies. Insert a blank DVD-R. Click record.
2. Make a data DVD. This is for backing up files from a PC. Drag and drop all the files into the programs main window for Mac or, for PC, find the folders you want to copy. Click Record and or Finish.
3. Copy the TS-Folder. The TSfolder has.bup and.vob files inside. Make a new folder. Then double click on the DVD you want to copy. Inside you'll see the TS-folder. Copy that to the new folder on your desktop. The copy the new folder into the DVD burn software. Click record.
