The HTC Desire Is An Appealing All Rounder



The internet has recently seen a number of leaked pictures and specifications of the upcoming HTC Desire HD. Building on the reputation and popularity of the already successful HTC Desire, this new and improved handset looks set to wow HTC fans and shake up the smartphone market.

Some unofficial preliminary specifications and pictures have already been leaked to whet the appetite of HTC fans, and smartphone and gadget enthusiasts in general.

A massive 4.3 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen is at the centre of the handset, boasting the ability to display up to 16M colours within the confines of its pixel resolution of 480x 800. Obviously as the name suggests, high definition display of images and video will give users the chance to view their multimedia files as they were intended. Other specifications of the screen include an accelerometer sensor, optical trackpad and multi-touch input method.

It also appears that the highly customisable HTC Sense UI will make a reappearance. As with several other recent HTC handsets, this allows multiple homescreens to be customised with apps and widgets as well as themes and colour schemes. The customisation side of things does not stop there, with the option to utilise MP3 files as ringtones, which will work alongside vibration to alert users to incoming calls and messages.

For storage of data such as media files, it appears that 4GB of internal storage will be provided as standard; however there will also be expandable storage in the form of a micro SD card slot which can accommodate a card of up to 32GB.

Several connectivity options will be included as standard. Cellular networks will be provided courtesy of GPRS and EDGE in class 10 versions, as with the standard HTC Desire. The same goes for HSDPA and Wi-Fi internet connectivity.

Of course, a smartphone with
