New Government Set To Reduce Emissions

Twenty government departments and agencies have signed up to a new programme aiming to help them cut their carbon emissions by 10% within a year. The bodies, including the Department of Health, the Ministry of Justice and Department of Energy and Climate Change, will work alongside the Carbon Trust in a bid to slash energy bills and reduce their environmental impact.

They will be given expert advice and support to identify energy saving opportunities within their organisations and given help to carry out practical measures, such as installing modern metering and encouraging staff to conserve energy.

It is hoped the project will have a similar impact to the Trust
