World of Warcraft Mining Gold Farming - Starting Off Right With Mods, Gear, and Secondary Profession
World of Warcraft mining can be a little tricky when starting out. Though I think it's the best profession to start off with if you want to make gold quickly when you first start (it is especially profitable when combined with my fast food method, read previous article), I realize that some new gamers still need a roadmap so I decided to outline the best way to level up the World of Warcraft mining profession.
WoW mining comes with the 2 additional skills of Smelting and Finding Minerals. You will get to choose a secondary profession, for mining these are the best secondary professions:
Blacksmithing
Jewelcrafting
Engineering
These secondary professions need materials that you can only get through Mining. If you don't have mining you will need to buy the materials and that gets really expensive.
If you want to get greedy get Skinning as a secondary profession. With two gathering professions you can bring in the gold fast.
Purchase a Mining Pick from a vendor. After this you will need to train in the Mining skill. Here is a list of mining trainers and where they are located:
Zone - Name - Location
Azuremyst Isle - Dulvi - Azure Watch
Darkshore - Kurdram Stonehammer - North Auberdine
Dun Morogh - Yarr Hammerstone - Eastern end of Kharanos
Immediately get the Gatherer add-on and the GathererDB add-on, these mods will tell you where the known locations of ore are at. This will save you quite a bit of time.
There you go, that's a good way to start off your World of Warcraft Mining Profession. The next few articles will reveal some of my favorite WoW Mining spots, how to level up fast, and some cool time saving tips.
