Types of Blind


Blinds are some of the most widely used material to cover the windows in homes, offices, kitchens etc. They vary in design and material, from wood to fabric, faux wood, metal, aluminum etc. Their name is derived from their purpose as they actively blind the vision of anyone looking through the window. Typically they come in two varieties these are solid and slat, normally slat blinds can be aligned along the vertical and horizontal while solid blinds are normally along the vertical axis in the form of rollers.

Many people chose to have a blind as their sole window dressing as this provides a chic yet uncluttered look which is ideal for small rooms. Alternatively blinds can be used in combination with traditional curtains in place of old fashioned net curtains as they are also the perfect choice to keep prying eyes from seeing into your rooms!

Blinds fitted inside the recess of a window provides a stylish window dressing, however these are not really suitable for windows which open inwards as they simply get in the way!

However, when fitted inside the recess they do enable window sills to be fully utilized for displaying vases of flowers or personal objects or small table lamps.

Designers have made huge advancements in the operating and control techniques, making noisy blinds a thing of the past irrespective of what material they are made from. Remote controlled blinds offer effortless operation and are ideal for awkward or hard to reach windows.
