The job of a marketing director is of great responsibility and can be hailed as supreme in the marketing department. Since he has to oversee the activities of the whole marketing department so naturally it requires him to be extremely efficient and competent. The whole functionality of the department and its smooth running is ensured by the marketing director. So you do understand how important it is for this particular professional to be adept in his works and duties. This is the reason why a marketing director has to work in close relation with the management people and the sales personnel. He really needs to define the objectives and vision of the organization properly to the manager and the sales executive properly.

The budgets, be it the quarterly or the annual budgets are required to be set and analyzed by the marketing director. He has to oversee and calculate to some extent or rather contemplate that what would be the situation when budget is approaching. And accordingly decide on the expenses and reserves of the organization. These are some of the ways in which the goals and missions of the organizations can be realized for its better performance.

There are other responsibilities which may appear a little small but has to be realized for improvement and fast results. The marketing director has to create such an ambiance where everyone would feel like working actually. The subordinates who are working under him need constant motivation to perform really well. They should feel like working on projects and works which are assigned to them. Advertising and promotional activities are usually designed by them and it has consumer research or survey programs are conducted very often by the marketing department, which is required to be supervised and monitored by him. There are events which are planned very often which needs monitoring and the marketing director has to see to it.

Basically for such jobs, fresher are not appointed and hence an experience of 5 to 10 years is always demanded in this case in the relevant field.
