Fever Pitch: A contemporary romantic comedy about a high school teacher who meets and falls in love with a successful businesswoman. Although their lives are vastly different, the relationship seems perfect until the baseball season begins and she has to compete with his first true love: the Boston Red Sox. Starring: Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon.
I went to the movies for a Sunday matinee and snuck into see Fever Pitch as my freebee movie. (youve all done it, dont look down on me). Anyways, I like Drew Barrymoore, and I was excited to see Jimmy Fallon steal a role from the sell-out Adam Sandler. I am a huge SNL fan of his and anything had to be better than that crappy Taxi movie with the Queen. The previews looked cute and it seemed like a good balance movie to take a wife or girlfriend to. Once I found out the Farrelly brothers did it, my expectations were larger than before. Well the movie turned out to be a little bland. He couldve been a more raging fan in my opinion. I kept waiting for it to get out of control but it never really got out of the launch pad. This is 90% romance and 10% comedy. The funniest part was when his bald friend was shaving Adams balls for no apparent reason in the shower. He said, "WHAT Im and anastesialogist!!!!!" That part was the only hint of a Farrelly Brothers production I could find in this average movie. Worth renting, not seeing or buying. Sorry folks.
