Rules Of Attraction Movie Review

Rules Of Attraction : An adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis novel, The Rules of Attraction is set in an American college in the 1980s. Sex, drugs, and music form a background to the story of students Sean Bateman (James Van Der Beek), Lauren (Shannyn Sossamon), and Paul (Ian Somerhalder) as they get involved in a bizarre love triangle.

According to other reviews Ive read, I am in the minority group of people who actually liked this movie. I actually really liked this movie. The direction, script, and cinematography, was all very well done. How could you go wrong when the writer of Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs, (Roger Avary), directed, produced, and wrote the screenplay?

Many of the reviews complain of not liking the characters, and that the movie has too much sex and drugs and not enough plot. My goodness. How do you please these people? Sex, drugs and minimal plot is what keeps us monkey Americans interested. And since when are you supposed to love every character to make it a good movie? Paaahleeeeze. Just because it isnt about beautiful topics/people/events doesnt mean it wasnt a beautiful movie. It was a piece of art. Humorous art with great cinematography and lots of nudity. Ohhhhh yeeeeaahhh...

Im guessing that these reviewers arent very fun people to hang out with. Youd probably be constantly wondering when they were going to dig out those big fat trees and un-obstruct their asses.

Screw them. It was a great movie.
