William Sears coined a certain phrase called attachment parenting. It is a parenting philosophy taking its root on the principles of attachment theory in developmental psychology. It is also called secure attachment where in a strong emotional bond with parents during childhood becomes the ground for secure, emotionally emphatic relationship when one reaches adulthood.

Taking its root from attachment theory, attachment parenting is developed. The theory gives us an idea that the child or infant has the tendency to bargain closeness to another person and feel the security and love when that person is there. While in attachment theory, the child is attached to their parents mainly because they are human beings and human begins are social beings. They are not attached mainly because they need another human being to fill in their need for affection and attachment which is a normal part of a child
