It is very much essential to give dog obedience training to your puppies for they are not born with manners as human beings are and hence the timely training helps them acquire manners.
Understanding the mind of the dog is very important to give proper training. Puppies show a willingness to learn from the day of its birth.
Teaching discipline to your puppy should be mixed with love and proper exercise which should be started the same of acquiring your puppy.
If you want your puppy to listen and obey you, you must make them realize through good obedience training that you are its master and it ought to obey its master's commands.
Reward your puppy suitably when it obeys your orders. When you they are reinforced with rewards, they will obey you more willingly.
Strict enforcement of rules at an early stage is very essential. They must know their limits and learn not to go beyond them.
Even when the dog is happy or excited, it must not be allowed to break the rules. Food, walk, play and sleep must go on as per the time schedule.
Chewing furniture, jumping at the people, barking without any reason and digging the ground should not be allowed. Toilet training, sleeping and eating training should be included in the training process.
Such training should be given with concentration to avoid bad habits. A leash and a collar is ideal to avoid unnecessary happenings when there is nobody in the house and when taking the dog for a walking.
You may very well allow your dog to meet other people and other species under your supervision. Do not confine your dog to isolated place, for if done it may develop such habits as barking, showing aggression, anxiety and excessive fear.
Giving them various dog toys like Rope Dog Toys, Vinyl Dog Toys, Fleece Dog Toys, Canvas Dog Toys, Puppy Treats, Frisbees etc. will prevent their habit of biting.
Choose such toys that your dog would love to eat for training it, like soft ball, squeaky toys, and fleece toys. These toys would interest your dog.
To train your dog to overcome the habit of chewing the furniture, you may give it chew toys like nylon bone, chewy rope, chewy tire and tennis ball etc. Don't give vent for all its desires. But try to reward it when it exhibits favorable and desired attitude.
It is not good to be harsh and strict in training your dog. If you watch your dog carefully, you will not punish it unnecessarily.
A well trained dog will learn to obey and stay within its limits.
