Kampuchea For Christ Part I

Setan Lee and 7 co-workers founded KFC on July 8, 1995. Setan Lee, an American citizen, was raised in Cambodia. All the rest of the KFC staff to date is Cambodian. Before starting Kampuchea For Christ Setan had founded the only bible school in Cambodia at the time.

Kampuchea For Christ has established a ministry training center with a one year training program for Christians. The goal of this ministry is to build all aspects of the Church in Cambodia. People learn to be evangelists, pastors, church planters and generally how to work with the gifts of the holy spirit. In two years the group grew to 38 people that successfully planted 48 churches in Cambodia.

Since it was founded, Kampuchea For Christ has grown into one of the largest Christian organizations in Cambodia. They now have 14 different ministries throughout Cambodia. These ministries include:

The Ministry Training Center: This center, which is located in Phnom Phen, now has a two year training program and enrolls about 30 students in the program. Students learn the tools necessary to go out and help build the Church in Cambodia.

The New Development Center: This center ministers to women who are prostitutes that wish to leave that life style or destitute and needy girls. 60 girls now live at the New Development Center which is located in Kampong Chhnang.

David's Center: This is an orphanage for children of the Khmer Rouge. It is located in Anlong Veng, a very poor area, and can only house 20 children.

The Battambang Trade School: This school is located in Battambang, Cambodia which is the second largest city in Cambodia. This school teaches poor girls sewing skills so they can have the opportunity to earn money to help support their families. The girls sew bible covers, purses, bags and many other textile items. These items are then sold in the United States by places like http://www.coveryourbible.com. These sales help fund the missions. The costs of the school are supplemented by a computer class that is also taught at the school. The cost for this class is $7 a month for the more well to do students.

School Uniforms and Supply Distribution: In addition to the bible covers, purses and bags that are made by the girls at the Battambang Trade School, they also make school uniforms. This are given to poor families so their children can attend school. Additionally, school supplies are distributed. Without these uniforms and school supplies many poor children in Cambodia would not be able to attend school.

Kampuchea For Christ also has missions in: Rice Distribution, Evangelism, Church Planting, Church Hosting, Medical Ministry, Feeding Programs, Well Digging, Urban Youth Outreach and Pastor Training.
