Seeds of War

The Prime Minister of Israel, Binyamin Netanyahu, recently made a visit to the White House and was promptly told by President Barack Obama that Israel will give up the West Bank and East Jerusalem for a two state solution to the Palestinian problem. World Net Daily reported that President Obama promised Palestinian President Abbas that Jerusalem will be their capital. This "solution" to the Middle East problem being imposed on Israel seems to be in line with a statement reported in the Arabic newspaper, Al Hayat, in which King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia told the U.S. President, "We want from you a serious participation to solve the Palestinian issue and impose the solution if necessary." With this mindset, the seeds for the next world war are now planted.

Upon returning to Israel, Prime Minister Netanyahu stated, "Jerusalem has always been - and always will be - ours.

It will never again be divided or cut in half. Jerusalem will remain only under Israel's sovereignty." The President of Israel, Shimon Peres stated that, "Israel will never have another capital other than Jerusalem, and Jerusalem will never be the capital of another people." Israel has drawn a line in the sand.

As I covered in my book Five W's of God, Jerusalem has become a stone around the neck of the entire world just as predicted in Zechariah 12:2-3:

2. Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.

3. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

Israel's enemies are starting to circle the wagons and both sides are preparing for war.

North Korea, whose been in the news quite a bit recently, helped build a nuclear facility in Al Kibar, Syria that was destroyed by Israel just last year. The current President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahamadinejad, calls for the destruction of Israel on almost a monthly basis while his country races to build a nuclear bomb to fulfill that wish. Iran's missiles are based on North Korea's and Iranian presidential candidate Mohsen Rezai, said he would stop Israel "...with one strike." North of Israel, Hezbollah has re-armed with more missiles than it had in the Second Lebanon War. The Gaza strip has been taken over by Hamas, armed to the teeth with rockets, vowing also to destroy the Jewish state.

For its part, Israel has just completed a 5 day country wide emergency drill called Turning Point III - the largest ever. The Jerusalem Post on April 14th stated that Israel and the U.S. are to hold the largest-ever joint missile defense drill. Haaretz.com reports 66% of Israeli Jews back an attack on Iran.

This is all leading to what God warned against in Zechariah 12:9, "And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem." In Jeremiah 30:7 this time is called "Jacob's trouble," after Jacob who had his name changed by God to Israel: "Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it."

Israel's response is given in Zechariah 12:6, "In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem." Dissecting Jerusalem to appease her enemies would be a very disastrous move on the part of the U.S.
