Make Learning The Tarot Easier Part I

Make Learning The Tarot Easier Part I

 by: Deborah Sexton

Like anything else that is complex, the Tarot can take years to learn. If you plan to do readings for others you must learn them as completely as possible. This will help ensure that you don't mislead someone by interpreting the cards wrongly Giving a reading is a great responsibility. A person coming to you for guidance tends to look up to you and trusts what you tell them. You don't want to misguide someone or change their destiny by giving them a haphazard reading. If you would like to practice on a family member or friend you must tell them that you are a novice and that they should not take so literally what you tell them, not at this point anyway. As long as you explain that it is practice I doubt you would reap any karma. So pick your victims with care :)

The best way to start learning the Tarot is by taking and understanding the Fool’s journey. This will help you understand the sequence of events and how the Fool got there. Along with the Fool’s journey you should also study Numerology.

The Magician ( 1 ) is equal to the meaning of the number 1 which is also related to the meaning of the Aces ( 1 ) and the Wheel of Fortune.( 10 ) For instance the Magician ( 1 ) is mastery of focused energy, this focused energy zooms in and manifests the things we desire. We become creators of our lives. The Aces which are also ones ( 1 ) Are things that are new, from new love to new life. The seeds under the ground waiting to burst through as a new beautiful plant. It is also the start of something. The Wheel of fortune ( 10 ) is about New Cycles, the beginning of an event that will go full circle. A new chapter in our lives that is about to begin.

In Numerology the one year, is a year we begin a new 9 year cycle. A time to focus and start a new venture.

In short, learning Numerology will help greatly when looking for meaning in the cards.

As you are learning the meaning of each card in detail, you can also learn shorter versions that are more like “ Tarot Card Meanings at a Glance “ Cards with the same meaning grouped together help to identify the entire meaning of the reading. It is best to look at all of the cards at once to start.

I learned the Tarot by doing readings for myself. I recorded in a journal the cards I turned over and the position each card was found. Later when the events occurred in my life, I was in hind sight able to see more clearly what the cards were trying to tell me. This was a great help in learning the meaning of each card. As a matter of fact I would suggest this over doing readings for others.

So that this article does not become too lengthy I will be doing it in two to three parts. In part two I will group together some cards with basically the same meaning.
