Social Media And Blogging Tactics For Increased Traffic
I think everyone is pretty much familiar with blogging and how you can increase traffic with it. However the term social media might be a less clear.
Social media is defined as media that is presented by the user to interact with people. Common forms of social media today include Facebook, You Tube and Stumbleupon. All three of these provide media in a different format yet can all be integrated with blogging to effectively increase your traffic.
1. Let's start with Facebook which is the world's largest social networking site. Currently they get over 39 billion page views per month. They are growing at an astounding rate with over 400 million members already.
You can bookmark your blog articles to your Facebook wall. This is a way to drive traffic back to your blog when your friends view these blog articles.
You can also buy ads on Facebook. Link back to your blog or a specific blog post where you're offering products for sale.
2. You Tube is the world's largest online video site. They are owned by Google and provide a very effective way to get traffic to your website or blog.
As a matter of fact 50% of all traffic now comes from videos. One thing you can do is add videos to your blog posts.
Even if you do not create those videos yourself you can use videos from You Tube and post the embed code on your blog articles. Google loves this and they will rank you higher the specific blog articles which can lead to more long-term traffic.
3. Stumbleupon is an excellent social directory to bookmark your blog articles to. You will find that this produces some of the best traffic on a consistent basis.
The key to book marking a blog post to a social directory is to include your keyword phrases in the blog article and in the social directory title where you are bookmarking it. This again can lead to search engine traffic as well as traffic from a specific directory.
None of these specific tactics take very long to do. The point is to get into the habit of posting blog articles on a consistent basis. Be sure to bookmark your blog articles to social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
Also bookmark them to social directories as Stumbleupon and Technorati. And finally include video marketing in the mix by adding videos to your blog articles before you bookmark them.
These are all strategies that you can use to combine blogging and social media traffic!
