Deep Blue Sea celebrates Miami Herald\'s 100 years - News - Brief Article


MIAMI DEEP BLUE SEA recently completed work on the first two spots in a new four-spot image campaign for The Miami Herald. The package is designed to communicate the 100-year journey the paper and its readers have enjoyed and includes different MIAMI HERALD newspaper covers highlighting events from throughout the past century.

Using a combination of Adobe After Effects and Discreet Flame, designers Carmen Cothern and Kyle Reynolds integrated numerous elements, including newspaper covers, vintage black & white photos and live-action footage. The style of each spot emphasizes the newspapers covers, which animate over a background of running footage. Each covers corresponding date is accentuated on the stylized timeline that cycles through the years chronologically.
