What is OpenSource?
Open Source Initiative (OSI) is a non-profit corporation dedicated to managing and promoting the Open Source Definition for the good of the community, specifically through the OSI Certified Open Source Software certification mark and program. You can read about successful software products that have these properties, and about our certification mark and program, which allow you to be confident that software really is "Open Source." We also make copies of approved open source licenses here.
The basic idea behind open source is very simple: When programmers can read, redistribute, and modify the source code for a piece of software, the software evolves. People improve it, people adapt it, people fix bugs.
These are some of the famous opensource scripts;
OsCommerce is an opensource e-commerce script.
MAMBO, Typo3 & Drupal are opensource CMS Script.
PhpAdsNew is famous Ad Management System.
What is an OpenSource Template?
Since the scripts like OsCommerce, Mambo, Typo3, Drupal etc are web based scripts, the templates that are designed for these OpenSource scripts are called as OpenSource templates. Since they are OpenSource the default design looks pretty normal.
TemplateMuseum.Com specializes in OpenSource templates. TemplateMuseum's templates can be easily integrated with the scripts.
If there is any problem in design integration Agriya Infoway specializes in design integration of OpenSource scripts for a nominal fee.
What are Contribution?
Since OpenSource code is accessible to anyone, there are lots of programmers who volunteer to create lots of add-on modules which are otherwise called as "Contribution". Generally these contribution carries good installation instructions.
If you need any help in installing the contributions Agriya Infoway specializes in OpenSource scripts & contribution installation.
