The brand is among the few products of Procter & Gamble which is known to have a net sales of more than US$1 billion annually, along with other popular products such as Downy, Ariel, Tide, Pampers, and Pantene. Though Olay were only introduced recently in the Philippine market, it quickly grew to become one of the best beauty and skin care products philippines. Brief History of Olay

Before the brand was known as Olay, it was first known as Oil of Olay which was founded in South Africa by Graham Wulff in in 1949. The name "Oil of Olay" was chosen by Wulff as a spin on the word "lanolin", a key ingredient. That feature that made it popular is its uniqueness. It was unique in the early days because it was a pink fluid rather than a cream, packaged in a heavy glass bottle. Wulff and his marketing partner, Jack Lowe, a former copywriter, had tested the product on their wives and friends and were confident in its uniqueness and quality.
