Does English Grammar Software Improve Your Grammar, Punctuation, and Spelling?

Is English Grammar Software an "All-In-One" Writing Tool?

Would You Like to Write Your Emails, Letters, Reports, and Blog Postings With Correct Written English in Every Sentence. This Type of Software Claims to Check Your Grammar, Style, Spelling, and More in an Instant. But Does it Really Work? Let's Find Out.

As someone who does a lot of writing, I'm always looking for ways to improve my English grammar, spelling, and style. English software programs claim to do all this and more. They do find many errors in spelling, punctuation, and grammar as well as offering style suggestions. The software works in two ways: as a resident program in the background or by turning the program on manually. The program will then open a window with highlighted errors. Right-click on any these highlighted words to see its suggestions. When the program is resident, it also makes suggestions every time you type a period. You can also copy your text into the correction box and click to make corrections. Choosing between different writing styles allows the program to examine your writing from different style perspectives.

Does it Help My Writing?

The software is certainly a state of the art grammar and writing software checker. I find that it usually corrects most of my grammar errors every time I check my writing. Whether you are a student or a writing professional, this software package may be of interest to you. The software is based on algorithms that "read" newspapers, websites, and blogs daily and uses that information to edit prose based on the types of writing styles you select.

What Does It Do?

Starting with grammar, punctuation, and spelling corrections all the way up to text enrichment suggestions of synonyms, adjectives, and adverbs, the English software program does many different things. It works together with a built-in dictionary-thesaurus, idiom database, 600 document templates, and an optional multi-language translator that translates to eighteen languages. It will highlight your errors and let you decide whether to correct them for you.

The Good and the Bad About English Software:

The software will find multiple errors in your writing and helps you look at your writing from an editor's perspective. However, it make its own errors and not ever suggestion it has for you is a good one.(I find that it often erroneously suggests periods every time I use a hard return.) You still need to use your own judgment, however, as the program sometimes flags perfectly good sentences and words. Even so, it does find missing words and other errors, so I tend to use it to check all my writing. Overall, it improves my writing especially because it makes me look at my words from the point of view of an editor. It works in many applications, but in others you may need to copy to Windows Notepad or other word-editing program first.

The program resides on your computer and it updates its database through your Internet connection.

This software finds a lot of grammatical and spelling errors that you might normally miss if you proofread your own writing. It isn't perfect, far from it. However, for the most part it's a quick way to write with better, more grammatically correct English.
