Development Stages for Pomeranians

As devoted dog owners, we should make it a point to see our dogs through the crucial stages in their development in order to ensure that they mature into dogs that have maximized their true potential. Once we acquire pups, it becomes our responsibility to cater to their needs in place of their mothers. As we all know, fulfilling this role is not an easy thing to do. The natural and instinctual care that mothers have to offer their pups is something we have to make up for with utmost devotion and of course patience.

In the case of Pomeranians, the crucial stages of development can span over quite a number of months. As with other dog breeds, anything that Pomeranians experience within this period will significantly affect their general disposition in life. Once this period has passed, it will be particularly hard for us, dog owners, to modify any habits or behaviors. Hence, our best bet would be to pay as much attention as we can to our Pomeranian pups, as early as possible.

For the first month and a half, what Pomeranians need are food, sleep, and warmth. Ideally, they should not be separated from their mother and litter just yet. The reason behind this is that they look to their mother for security and discipline. In like manner, staying with the their litter helps them learn how to interact with other dogs.
